EC ask Attorney General to consider dissolving Thai Rak Thai Party

Election Commission have submitted to the Attorney General a Nam Yimyaem report which found causes of Thai Rak Thai Party hiring small parties to contest in the April 2 national election, Attorney General Pachara Yutthitamdamrong said on Tuesday.

However the EC did not comment on the report, Pachara said.

Attorney General has set up of committee headed by Chaikasem Nitisiri, deputy attorney general, to scrutinise the Nam report.

Then the office will decide to either prosecute or ask for additional evidence from the EC. After receiving additional evidence, the office will be obliged to commence trial.

The Constitution Court is empowered to order dissolution of TRT if it is found guilty of hiring small parties to contest in the election.

The Nam report concluded that TRT is guilty of hiring small parties to contest in the April election.
