Bovornsak resigns as cabinet secretary general

Cabinet Secretary General Bovornsak Uwanno said he would resign from the position and will enter monkhood to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of HM the King's accession to the Throne.

Bovornsak said that he would be in the monkhood for ten days and would not return to work in politic again.

"I decide to resign because the present political situation is changing and not normal. These caused increasing distrust in the country. As a government servant, I as well as my family, am not happy with the changing situation. So I decide to resign," he said.

After he leaves the monkhood, he said, he would not return to work in politic.

Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Kruengam said Bovornsak's resignation was not caused by working problem.

"Khun Bovornsak had consulted with me about his intention to resign and entered the monkhood to join celebration of HM the King's 60 th anniversary on the Throne," he said.

Bovornsak will become monk this Saturday, Wisanu said, adding Bovornsak will still join in a royal celebration on Friday.
