Russian, German outclass rivals

Morev Alexander of Russia defeated Michael Little of Australia when the referee stopped the contest in the 67-kg men's division first round on the second day of the World Amateur Muaythai Championships at the Mall Bang Kapi's MCC Hall yesterday.

In the same A class, Schneider Thilo of Germany beat Boyan Dinitrov of Cyprus on points 4-1, Luxembourg's Parviz Iskenderou outclassed Pasi Luukkanen of Finland 4-1, and Vqkorash of Ukrain defeated Iranian Jalal Motamede 5-0.

Middleweight Dam Srichan of Thailand, the only male Thai boxer in the competition, was no match for Russian Levin Artem, beaten 5-0.

In the 75-kg division, Sidide Cheick of France defeated Krisimir Dimov of Bulgaria in a thrilling bout with the former gaining a 4-1 decision from the judges.

In the women's competition, Sararat Kongsawang of Thailand beat Doron Eldar of Israel in the 51-kg flyweight division, while So Ming-wai of Hong Kong defeated Bendang Jungla of India when the referee stopped the contest in the third round.

The preliminary round continues today, starting at 1pm. Admission is free.
