Royal exhibition extended one week

The grand exhibition at the Impact Convention Centre at Muang Thong Thani marking the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne is to be extended by a week, caretaker Government Spokesman Surapong Suebwonglee said yesterday.
The historic exhibition, originally slated to run from 9am to 9pm from May 26 to June 4, has already received around 2.2 million visitors, with 500,000 a day over the past three days. Because of such high demand the organising committee has decided to extend the daily opening hours to 8.30am-10pm on Saturday and Sunday, and the exhibition will now run until June 11. On June 9 the exhibition will open at 1pm, allowing people to see HM the King wave from the window of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall at 9am. The director and actors of the "Mahajanaka Grand Musical", which has been a highlight of the exhibition, told the organisers they would be willing to extend the run along with the exhibition. Surapong added that they were considering three shows a day instead of two. The 7,000 tickets are sold out, and there is a long waiting list. Piyanart Srivalo The Nation
