O&M lands top award

Ogilvy & Mather yesterday won the Agency of the Year award at the third annual Adman Awards & Symposium at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. The event was hosted by the Advertising Association of Thailand (AAT).
The Production House of the Year Award went to Phenomena. Creative Juice\G1 won the Best of TV award with its "Robbery Tyre Twister" commercials for Bangkok Insurance. The Best of Print award went to BBDO Bangkok for its "Darkside" project for Maglite, while IndoSport (Thailand) Ltd again picked up the Advertiser of the Year award. Parames Rachjaibun, AAT emeritus chairman and chairman of the organising committee, said there were 1,183 entries this year, divided into eight major categories: TV, print ads, outdoor and ambience, radio, graphics, innovative use of media, public relations, and integrated marketing campaigns. The Adman Awards & Symposium was established three years ago by Thailand's ad agencies. The festival's reputation has grown significantly and it has become a springboard for promoting the local industry on an international level. "Several winners at last year's Adman Awards & Symposium 2005 went on to win at Cannes. We are quite confident that several of tonight's winners will become contenders at future Cannes festivals," said Parames. Nitida Asawanipont The Nation
