Goat's milk sales expected to hit Bt300 million

Mah Boonkrong Dairy Goats Co Ltd recently introduced Sirichai-brand UHT goat's milk, with a sales target of Bt300 million for the year.
"We've received a lot of interest among health-conscious customers since we introduced our unsweetened, honey and chocolate milks in the market. So far, we have about 30,000 regular customers drinking our milk every day," said executive vice president Saravut Vulakul.The company has spent more than Bt400 million to introduce the new UHT production line, which provides a healthy alternative for customers. This year, the company expects sales of Bt500 million from goat's-milk products and has earmarked a marketing budget of Bt100 million. Saravut has high hopes the new UHT formula will better meet consumer demand. Primary target groups include health-conscious individuals, working women and allergy sufferers, with children and the elderly the secondary targets. The products are now sold in hypermarkets such as Tesco Lotus and Carrefour. "We hope now that we've introduced UHT goat's milk, market demand will jump to a new level, because we have exciting marketing plans. The company plans to inform consumers about the nutritional value of regular consumption of goat's milk," he said. Mah Boonkrong Dairy Goats is the leader in developing goat's-milk products in Thailand. It is the distributor of Sirichai pasteurised, UHT and cup yoghurt and also markets GMK-brand goat's-milk cosmetics. Goat's milk is recommended for those who cannot digest cow's milk. Sirichai's raw materials come from goat breeds imported from Australia and New Zealand. They are raised in closed farms for hygienic reasons.
