Grand exhibition extended to June 11

The grand exhibition marking the 60th anniversary of His Majesty's accession to the throne is to be extended by a week, caretaker government spokesman Surapong Suebwonglee said on Friday.
The historic exhibition - originally slated to run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 26 to June 4 - has already received around 2.2 million visitors, with 500,000 each day over the past three days. Because of such high demand the organising committee has decided to extend the daily opening hours to 8.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and the exhibition will now run until June 11. On June 9, the exhibition will open at 1 p.m., allowing people to audience the HM the King's greeting from the window of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall at 9 a.m. (please check - allowing the people to witness/view HM the King's greeting from the window of Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall at 9 a.m. ?) The director and actors of the Mahajanaka grand musical, which has been a highlight of the exhibition, told the organisers they would be willing to extend the show period along with the exhibition. The director (do we have a name for him?) added they are also considered have three shows instead of two shows a day. So far the show's 7,000 seats have been fully booked and many people are on the waiting list to watch the show, he said. Piyanart Srivalo The Nation
