TOA adds some colour to Burma

TOA Paint (Thailand) Co Ltd introduced new products to the Burmese market at a seminar at the Traders Hotel in Rangoon yesterday, reports The New Light of Myanmar.
Company officials said a significant quality of a new paint produced using high technology was its ability to resist dust and slime.
Surcharge nixed The Canadian government has rejected a call to impose surcharges on bicycles imported from Vietnam, China, Thailand and the Philippines, reports the Vietnamese Trade Ministry's Competition Management Agency. The report said Canadian imports of bicycles made in Vietnam had fallen nearly 50 per cent, and the decision was a boon for the country's bicycle industry, which was suffering from EU anti-dumping tariffs.
Exim to aid trade The Export-Import Bank of Thailand has introduced measures to boost the liquidity of Thai exporters suffering from the stronger baht and steadily increasing energy costs. It will increase lending, extend repayment terms and introduce a small exporters' financing facility with "accommodative" interest rates. Chairman and acting president Narongchai Akrasanee said the bank stood ready to increase revolving credit lines to exporters, particularly those facing a sharp rise in prices for raw materials in industries like rubber and rubber products, textiles and gems and jewellery.
