Wandee to fight Rubillar in July

The much anticipated WBC interim light flyweight title contest between Filipino Juanito Rubillar and Thailand's Wandee Singwancha will be staged in Thailand on July 12.
The title fight between the No 1 and No 2 contenders will take place at Sukhothai-Thammathirat University in Nonthaburi Province. The WBC sanctioned this interim bout due to the injury of current champion "Hawaiian Punch" Brian Viloria. Rubillar has had 39 wins for nine loses and 17 knockouts and is the two-time WBC international title holder. It will be his fourth attempt to win the world title. Former WBC strawweight title holder Wandee has lost only seven of his 48 contests with 10 knockouts. If he beats Rubillar he will be the third Thai fighter to win the world title in two divisions, joining Muangchai Kittikasem and Sirimongkol Singwancha. Patrick Cusick The Nation
