Major logistics show set for July

The Export Promotion Department is gearing up for its Thailand Logistics Fair 2006, to be held on July 13-15 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok.
The event, which features as many as 120 exhibitors from Thailand and overseas in more than 180 booths, will serve as a platform for the Thai logistics industry to demonstrate its capabilities and readiness to become the new logistics hub of Southeast Asia. "The Thailand Logistics Fair 2006 aims at opening the door of opportunity for business entrepreneurs to seek appropriate logistics and related services for their organisations," said Export Promotion Department director-general Chantra Purnariksha. "We believe that well-organised logistics systems can reduce production costs substantially, while improving operation efficiency and customer satisfaction. This provides organisations with a competitive edge over their business rivals in the world marketplace." The Thailand Logistics Fair 2006 event is the third in a series. At this year's event, visitors have a chance to find out more about transportation services, freight forwarding/shipping, materials handling and storage systems, international couriers, warehouse services, information technology/automatic identification systems, packaging systems and containers, as well as banking, consulting and insurance. "Visitors will have a chance to select the most appropriate logistics services and technologies that have become available, to maximise their performance and minimise costs," said Chantra. "They will also have the opportunity to meet with potential business partners and customers from around the world. In addition, they can participate in a number of interesting logistics exhibitions and seminars on such topics as 'Logistics: The Effective Strategy to Lower Business Budget' and 'Introduction to Basic Logistics Infrastructure in Thailand'. "Another highlight is the 'Business Matching' activity, that matches leading Thai logistics providers with potential overseas clients," she added. "If you are a business entrepreneur, no matter what size, or if you are simply interested in the logistics services Thailand has to offer, by all means, don't miss this exciting event."
