Pongsaklek to fight Sth African

[BOXING] Thailand's WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam will be given "an offer he can't refuse" for his mandatory 15th title defence against South African Mhikiza Myekeni.
South Africa's flamboyant promoter Branco Milenkovic said he would win the purse bid to lure Pongsaklek to South Africa for "a huge world title event". "It will be a mega-fight and August has been penciled in as the date for this big fight," said Mokenkovic. "This is great news for South Africa." WBC President Dr Jose Sulaiman has ordered Pongsaklek to fight Myekeni, who he described as "a great prospect from South Africa". Myekini is one of a few South Africans in recent times to get a WBC title shot. Sugarboy Malinga wrested Nigel Benn's super-middleweight title from the champion's grasp, while Mzonke Fana fought his way into the top contender's position last year, before being challenged by Marco Antonio Barerra for the junior lightweight crown. The tough, experienced Pong-saklek will enter the WBC Hall of Fame if he beats Myekini. The Thai champ has lost only two of 63 fights and won 31 contests by knockout.
