Colorado boosts Chevrolet

Strong continuing sales of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup, supported by the recent introduction of the G80 Diff-Lock differential locking technology, helped propel Chevrolet into the No-3 position for pickup sales here in April, according to official industry statistics.
Chevrolet's strong figures for the month - 2,733 pickups sold - translate to an 8.1-per-cent share of the highly competitive pickup market, and represent the first time Chevrolet has achieved a spot among the top three in sales. "The Colorado's popularity continues to make inroads with new consumers, while its dura- bility and reliability have helped firmly establish the Colorado's reputation in the market," said John Thomson, vice president of sales, marketing and after-sales for Chevrolet Sales (Thailand) Ltd. "We're extremely proud that in just a few short years, Chevrolet has steadily progressed from a new market entry to a valued and trusted brand among Thai consumers," he said. April also showed impressive sales of its Optra Estate wagon and Optra sedan, which, combined with the Colorado, helped Chevrolet record a 6.1-per-cent share of overall sales with 3,279 units, its highest monthly figure since entering the market in 2000. "This is a true reflection of the increasing confidence Thai consumers have in the Chevrolet brand - both in our vehicles and our expanding nationwide after-sales service," said Thompson. "The country's first ever introduction of our G80 Diff-Lock technology has added more depth to the Colorado offering."
