Democrats set their strategy

The Democrat Party has set up committees to oversee its strategies, policies and candidates, deputy spokesman Sathit Pitutecha said yesterday.

Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva was appointed chair of the party election committee. Deputy leaders and executives were appointed members of the committee, he said. Secretary-general Suthep Thaug-suban will be director of the election campaign, he said.

Another executive, Chinnaworn Boonyakiat, said the committees taking care of each zone of the country and each area of the election such as strategies, policies and candidates, could expect to work hard. They were expected to meet every day and be available at all times.

He said several new candidates were also expected to contest the election but he could not reveal their names.
