Police to question 17 more PAD members

The Police Crime Suppression Division is to call in for questioning 17 members of the People's Alliance for Democracy for allegedly "attempting to topple democracy", a source said yesterday.

Five leaders - Sondhi Limthongkul, Chamlong Srimuang, Somsak Kosaisuk, Somkiart Pongpaiboon and Pipop Thongchai - have already reported to police over a similar charge.

But police will summon PAD members who were most prominent at the PAD rallies, the source said. The 17 include spokesman Suriyasai Katasila, Chaiwat Sinsuwong, Suwit Wadnoo and Samran Rodphet.

Suwit said he and other members had no details yet of any charge they may face. He had heard before that the police would call other members, he said.

However, PAD members did not fear the charges against them. They were ready to report to the police, he said.
