Monitoring system increases efficiency

To help local manufacturers improve their productivity and create competitiveness among international business, Mobilis Automata has developed the Production Monitoring System to improve a plant's overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Managing director Krit Chongsrid said the tailor-made system helps manufacturers use information technology to improve their productivity, safety and operations, and become more competitive internationally. The system allows supervisors to monitor operating and production lines in real time via their computers. They can check the status of machines and workers on the production line, Krit said. The system can also send the factory database system via LAN so supervisors are able to monitor production processes from their office. Krit said that normally, supervisors monitor the status of machines and workers in the production line manually, which is prone to human error. Furthermore, the Production Monitoring System analyses manufacturing efficiency. It also enables supervisors and executives to more easily make decisions to forecast production and calculate capacity in advance. The first version of the system has been developed to support the auto industry, Krit said. "It will help business improve OEE by 65 per cent to meet international standards, which reach up to 85 per cent," he said.
