Nitiphum sues police

Bangkok Senator Nitiphum Nawarat yesterday filed a defamation complaint with police against those who posted messages on websites, including pantip.com and sanook.com, about an alleged Bt20 million debt.

Nitiphum submitted print versions of the messages attacking him over reports that he owed Bt20 million to a woman identified as "Jae Cheng" to Hua Mark police.

Nitiphum said the messages had tarnished his reputation as a senator, university lecturer and head of Assumption University's Asian and African Studies Centre.
