Hi-Tech give Sirichai Oil the slip

Hi-Tech’s Thiti Khammee tries to score against the defence of Sirichai Oil.
The Hi-Tech team cruised into the semi-finals of the King's Cup Division A Basketball Tournament after beating Sirichai Oil 71-56 at the Siam University Gymnasium yesterday.

The star-studded Hi-Tech team opened with fast breaks, lay-ups and three-pointers, which helped them to a half-time lead of 35-21.

The more experienced defending champions fielded their reserve players, who followed in their senior players' footsteps to outclass Sirichai Oil and control the game throughout the second half in a thrilling match.

Thiti Khammee was Hi-Tech's top scorer with 16 points, while Sirichai Oil's Peerapol Supphanun-tanont top scored with 17 points.

Hi-Tech have already booked a place in the semi-finals, while Sirichai Oil have to beat Bangkok Bank to book their place today.

Elsewhere, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), led by Apaipong Netsirisawan, Delip Rye and Wichai Jongkhunklang, played steadily to take a 46-32 lead at the halfway mark against the Royal Thai Air Force team.

The Air Force team could not break down the PEA side's game and went down 87-55. Worrapoj Thongsawangchaeng scored 17 points to be the PEA's top scorer.
