Compensate us, voters tell commission

Samut Sakhon voters yesterday filed complaints with the Central Administrative Court demanding Bt200 compensation each from the Election Commission (EC) for the layout of polling stations that allowed them to be observed marking their ballots.
They spent money getting to the polls and require compensation, the voters claim. Sukrit Kittisriworapan, acting on behalf of Samut Sakhon voters Vichit Senakabut and Ek Saksit, said about 200 voters from Bangkok and Nonthaburi will file similar complaints against the EC. Meanwhile, Democrat Party legal experts yesterday also filed complaints with the Central Administrative Court questioning the legality of the April 2 snap election. Democrat Peerapan Saleerat and his team submitted a request that the court cancel all MP candidate registration and prevent the EC's endorsement of all constituency and party list winners. They proposed the court order the Senate to appoint a new election commissioner within 45 days after a position fell vacant following the death of Jaral Buranapansri.
