IN BRIEF
Health competition: Who is baby prince's most bouncing contemporary?

To honour His Majesty the King's youngest grandson, who will be one today, the Public Health Ministry will announce the winner of its competition for the healthiest baby in Thailand.
A shortlist of contestants has already been drawn up.
The winner will be given the King's trophy while one runner-up from each of the five regions will receive a trophy awarded by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, the father of the baby prince, His Royal Highness Prince Teepangkorn Rasmichoti.Department of Mental Health director-general Somyos Jaroensak said all 60 contestants, born between 5pm and 9pm on April 29 last year, would be given certificates by the ministry. The awards will be presented at the Chitralada Palace. He said 2,000 babies born on the same day as the prince and registered with the ministry would receive special medical attention from the department. Election: MPs not being paid Members of Parliament legally elected in the April 2 poll are not being paid as the country wallows in political limbo. Pitoon Pumhiran, secretary-general of the House Secretariat, yesterday said the 382 MPs that met legal criteria for election were not being paid while the country waited to see whether or not the election result would be nullified. "We will await the courts: if they do not nullify the April 2 election we will pay the MPs," he said. "We don't know the status of MPs yet, so we're only paying their travel expenses," Pitoon said.
