Vinythai plans higher capacity

Vinythai's board of directors approved spending Bt840 million to increase the company's annual production capacity for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by 70,000 tonnes.
The company told the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday that the cost would be met from its own cash flow. The expansion will increase Vinythai's total annual PVC production capacity to 280,000 tonnes. - The Nation.
Winning tanks A team of Bangkok University students took first place in the national business-planning contest, Moot Biz 2006, with a plan to produce cheaper tanks for natural gas in vehicles than those currently imported. The tanks would be made of high-density polyethylene plastic and fibreglass pass current safety tests. Weighing 47 kilograms, they could hold 70 litres of natural gas. Each tank would cost Bt20,000, or half the price of imported tanks, said Pisit Lee-ahtam, chairman of the Moot Biz 2006 judges. The winners will receive Bt200,000 in prize money. - The Nation.
Diana store sold The major shareholders in Diana Department Store Plc will sell a combined 9.8 million shares, or 75.38 per cent of the company, to Jrarat Pingclasai, who currently has no relationship with the company. The group of sellers includes Thayanee Co Ltd, Phithan Panich Co Ltd, the Chantrasmi family and other minority shareholders, Diana Department Store told the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
