John Anthony Griffiths, managing director of IT Retail Development, said retail space was renting from Bt100 a day.

"According to our survey there is demand for an IT shopping centre with computer and mobile-phone retail shops from people in the Bang Kapi area," said Griffiths.

Happy Land IT Plaza is under construction and is expected to open on May 1.

The three-storey building has 14,000 square metres of space on eight rai. The company has invested a further Bt200 million in a parking block for 200 cars.

The centre has electronics and electronic products on the first floor, IT-related products including computers and mobile phones on the second, and fashion products, cosmetics and a spa on the third.
