Royal photo competition opens

People who have been granted an audience with His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej have been asked to send their photographs of the meeting to a Bangkok post office box in a search for the best six.
The photos must be accompanied by an essay detailing the meeting and be sent to PO box 999, Lat Phrao, Bangkok."From the photos sent to the box, we will select 20 of the best, so people can vote for their favourite via SMS [short-message-service from a cell phone] and from there we will choose the six best," Government Spokesman Surapong Suebwonglee said yesterday. He said cell-phone service operators would be asked not to charge users as they cast their votes, as part of the celebrations marking 60 years of rule by His Majesty. Surapong said the six best photos would be put on display at an exhibition in honour of His Majesty, between May 26 and June 4 at the Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. "We believe the exhibition will attract at least three million visitors," he said.
