Prem urges all citizens to strive for harmony

Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda yesterday called on all Thais to join in the spirit of Songkran to rise above political ill will.
"We should use our Songkran tradition as an occasion when everyone turns to each other. Help to think through and solve the country's problems and bring peace not only to Bangkok and major cities but also rural areas,'' he said. After voting in Bangkok's Dusit district during the advance polling for the Senate, Prem preached love and unity and wished all Thais a long life. "I am not pinpointing any particular person but everybody should take part in making sacrifices. Please remember that the country needs everyone to love, unite and compromise for the public interest," he said. "It's time everyone ends the ongoing problems with love and togetherness for the sake of the public's well-being,'' he said.
