Using high-power water guns during Songkran water fights could cause eye injuries and even blindness, Consumer Protection Board secretarygeneral Rassamee Wisawathawet warned on Wednesday.



Thaksin's trip abroad is a political ploy : Surin

Former Foreign minister Surin Pitsuwan accused on Wednesday caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of trying to boost his image at the expense of relations with foreign countries and called Thaksin's upcoming trip abroad a political ploy for "domestic consumption".

Court likely to decide today on Democrats' case against EC
The Central Administrative Court is likely to decide today whether to hear a case against the Election Commission (EC) over its decision to accept new candidates in a second round of voting in 40 constituencies.






Songkran crackdown launched
The Road Safety Centre yesterday reported that 138 people were killed and 1,751 injured on the country's roads during the first four days of the Songkran holiday, and announced a crackdown on speeding and drunk drivers as well as roadside alcohol-sellers.
