Senior policeman's mother murdered

Two robbers broke into the house of a deputy superintendent of police in Chon Buri on Saturday night, stabbing the officer's mother to death and injuring his father who tried to jump from the second floor.
The two men, wearing taxi motorcycle waistcoats, raided the upper storey of the house and forced their way into the bedroom while the couple were sleeping, according to Chusak Leelaprapaporn, 63, the house owner. Chusak is the father of Police Lt-Colonel Kampol Leelaprapaporn, the deputy superintendent of Provincial Police Region 2, who was not at the house at the time. Chusak said the men were armed with knives and attacked him and his wife, Ni-orn. He escaped by jumping from the second floor and ran to call for help while his wife was held hostage by the intruders. The injured Chusak was taken to hospital by a passing driver. He had wounds to his neck and many bruises on his body. When police officers arrived at the house, they found Chusak's wife had been stabbed to death and left in the bedroom. A 30-centimetre-long cooking knife with blood stains was found in the kitchen. The robbers had entered the house by creating an opening in the ceiling. Police suspect the criminals could be taxi motorcyclists operating in the area. Kampol rushed home after learning about the incident.
