Senator Klaew dies

Senator Klaew Norapati, who represented Khon Kaen, died yesterday at his Bangkok home. He was 88.
He was found in his bedroom where he had apparently died in his sleep, said Chaichana Tassaniyom, a close aide.Klaew was elected seven times to the House of Representatives by voters in Khon Kaen and was one of the drafters of the Constitution. He entered national politics in 1952 and last ran for the Lower House in 1986. He won his seat in the Upper House in 2000, but his failing health became apparent when he fainted in the Senate several times. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. - The Nation
