THAI to service cargo conferences

THAI Airways International is to be the official airline for all World Cargo Alliance Family conferences held in Thailand, starting with the fourth Advanced Professional Logistics Network worldwide conference in September.
This means all delegates and their spouses flying from cities served by THAI will be able to take advantage of special rates. WCA Family organises up to six conferences per year for members of its networks, which are independent freight forwarders in more than 130 countries. Normally three-or-four-day affairs, they include sightseeing and golf options as well as gala dinners. - The Nation. Accor builds up Indian operation The worldwide Accor hotel group has announced the appointment of Urvashi Puri as director of its first international sales office in New Delhi, targeting the fast-growing Indian outbound tourist market. She joins Accor from Carlson Hotels India and has more than 13 years' experience in international sales and marketing. In her new position, Urvashi will be directly responsible for overseeing all sales activities in India. Indian outbound travel grew by more than 10 per cent per year from 2001 to 2004, and exceeded six million travellers in 2004.
