Bombs at polling stations in Narathiwat, injuring two soldiers

Bomb went off at polling stations in Narathiwat on Sunday, seriously injuring two soldiers.
The blast occurred shortly after the polls closed at 3pm at Joh I Rong and Tak Bai districts.
The explosion in front of Baan Ya Ning School in Joh I Rong, seriously injuring Private Uthorn Kampukiew, 23 at his face and Private Prasert Moongthapklang, 23, at his head.
They were providing security for a polling station located inside the school when the blast happened. They then were rushed to a hospital nearby.
Ten minutes later, a bomb went off in front of an office of Tambon Administration Authority in Takbai which was used as a polling station. The explosion injured no one.
Police were on alert for more attacks as they were transporting the ballot boxes.
Earlier suspected miltiants tried to disturb the election by placing empty boxes with a mobile phone taped on it to make people think they were explosives at seven areas in Pattani's Yarang district.
Police had to cordon off the areas only to find that they were empty boxes.
