Firms tuck in to Eating Expo

Franchise Focus, the owner of Franchise magazine, expects Bt200 million worth of franchise business to be generated as a result of Eating Expo and Food 2006, which runs from July 5 to 9 at Bang Na Hall at Central City Bang Na.
Managing director Somjit Likitsathaporn said the event, which the company has run for three consecutive years, has 100 businesses taking part and 100,000 visitors are expected, double the number of last year. She added that around half the visitors would be interesting in setting up a business, especially in catering, which has seen strong growth compared with other trades. The company estimates the 100 business taking part will get on average 20 new franchisees each. Werayut Butprom, executive management of Plantation and Farm Design, which operates a hot drinks franchise under the name 'Thai Chon', said the company hoped to gain about 10 franchisees from the event by offering a special price of Bt38,000 compared to the normal Bt55,000.
