Another historic march for democracy

The People's Alliance for Democracy holds another historic march from the National Stadium to Sukhumvit Road to urge more people to come out to support the calls for a royal intervention in the political crisis.
The PAD declared victory Saturday night after over 150,000 people come out to show support for its appeal to His Majesty to grant an interim government to carry out political reform.
The PAD plans to march protesters from the stadium past Siam Square and Siam Paragon shopping areas to Sukhumvit Road to highlight its cause.

2:23 pm: People start to disperse as asked by Sondhi.
2:22 pm: People shout "chaiyo" ten times and Sondhi asks people to disperse and come back again at 10 am at the Royal Thai Police on Monday and at 5 pm at Siam Paragon.
2:21 pm: Sondhi tells the crowd that the PAD would like to thank for joinig the long march from National Stadium to Emporium.
2:19 pm: Sondhi asks the crowd to save energy for another massive rally on March 29. He says Siam Paragon will be very good location as there will be plenty of foods. He says protesters who are tired can sneak inside Siam Shopping Centre to watch movies or some may take Sky Train to visit girlfriends or boyfriends before resuming the demonstration later.
Sondhi says the demonstration at Siam Paragon may continue until April 1.
2:16 pm: Sondhi asks the crowd to gather at Siam Paragon on Wednesday (March 29). Sondhi also criticizes Emporium for putting up barricades to prevent protesters to go inside to use toilets. He urges protesters to boycott Emporium.
2:15 pm: People shout "yes" when Sondhi asks if they will gather at the Royal Thai Police head office Monday morning when the PAD will file complaints with police against Thaksin.
2:13 pm: People roar up with "chaiyo" ten times and cheers and wave flags when Sondhi asks if they support the calls for a royally-appointed prime minister to replace Thaksin.
2:07 pm: Sondhi leads the crow to shout "get out" in Thai, English and Mandarin.
2:03 pm: People continue to shout "yes" to Sondhi's questions.
2:01 pm: People shout "yes" when Sondhi ask if they have to campaign against him.
1:56 pm: Sondhi tells the crowd that PAD initially plans to disperse at Central World Plaza but after hearing that many people are waiting at Emporium, so PAD decided to resume the procession.
Sondhi says he feel pity for people that they could be too tired to continue walking to Emporium so he asked demonstrators to disperse at Central World Plaza but none would go. Instead, the protesters continue to follow the procession to Emporium, Sondhi says.
1:55 pm: A girl gets lost from her mother. Sondhi makes announcement calling for her mother to pick her up at the amplifier truck.
1:47 pm: ASTV reports that security officials of Emporium put up barricades to prevent protesters from entering the compound. The shopping mall also steps up security by increasing the number of security officers.
1:44 pm: Sondhi tells the crowd to rest from a long walk and the organiser opens a song for protesters to dance waiting for a Hyde Park from PAD leaders.
1:42 pm: Sondhi tells the crowd that the people come to demonstrate at Emporium because Thaksin and his wife like to shop at the mall.
1:40 pm: The air in front of Emporium is filled with "get out" shouts of the demonstrators.
1:37 pm: Announcer tells the crowd that the road in front of Emporium is under occupation of protesters. Demonstrators who fully occupy the road on the opposite side from the shopping mall start crossing the road to the side of Emporium.
1:35 pm: The amplifier truck of Sondhi reaches under the fly-over in front of Emporium. Sondhi waves to the crowd. A lot of people watch the demonstration on the Sky Train station and from the area in front of the shopping mall.
1:32 pm: Demonstrators are asked to make way for amplifier truck so that Sondhi and other PAD leaders can open a Hyde Park in front of the shopping mall.
1:31 pm: The amplifier truck of Sondhi reaches Emporium.
1:28 pm: ASTV says earlier rumours that the procession will not proceed to Emporium prompt some people to go home but thousands come to wait for the procession in front of the shopping mall.
1:26 pm: People on roadsides and pedestrian fly-over shout "get out" in unison with demonstrators.
1:21 pm: The front of the procession reaches in front of Emporium. People chant non-stop "Thaksin get out".
1:15 pm: A group of motorcyclists, who lead the procession, reach Emporium.
1:00 pm: After seeing people refuse to disperse, PAD resumes procession to the direction of Emporium via Sukhumvit Road after intially plans to stop at Central World Plaza.
12:08 pm: ASTV reports that some people clad in yellow T-shirt gather in front of Emporium shopping mall to wait for the arrival of the procession. The satellite station says security officers of the mall also step security in front of the mall.
12:00 pm: Sondhi addresses protesters in front of Central World Plaza and thanks them for joining the protest. Sondhi asks the protesters to come out again to gather inside the compound of the Royal Thai Police at 10 am when the PAD will file complaints with police against Thaksin.
Sondhi asks the protesters to save their energy to come out to join another rally in front of Siam Paragon on March 29.
11:52 am: ASTV reports that it is not certain whether the protesters will march on Phetchaburi Road or Sukhumvit Road.
11:44 am: ASTV reports that it is not certain where the procession will head to now from Central World. The road in front of Central World is fully occupied.
11:40 am: The procession stops at Central World to hold a Hyde Park there. Saranyu Wongkrajang, a well-known actor and TV host, tells the crowd in front of Central World Plaza that many entertainers also join the parade. He calls on people to join another rally on Monday when the PAD will file complains with police agaisnt Thaksin at the Royal Thai Police head office.
11:35 am: The procession makes a left turn to Central World.
11:30 am: When the procession reaches the Rajprasong Intersection, protesters see a campaign vehicle of Paendin Thai Party driving past them from the opposite lane. Confusion break out when some protesters boo and throw objects to the vehicles. Some run after it and tearing down picture of Thaksin from the vehicle.
When protesters walk past the head office of the Royal Thai Police they shout, calling for police to join the anti-Thaksin movement.
11:27 am: ASTV reporter announces from the scene that the procession is about 2 kilometre long now.
11:18 am: Marchers continue shouting "Thaksin get out" in rhythm while marching.
11:10 am: People shout "Thaskin get out" nearly all the time while marching.
11:08 am: Sondhi is seen back on the amplifier truck to lead protesters to shout "Thaksin get out". Protesters are seen fully occupying the road in front of Siam Paragon.
11:00 am: The procession moves again.
Thaksin is seen leaving his house by driving his car through Rama VII Road to Prachachuen Road to his sports club.
10:52 am: ASTV reports that the front of the procession is still at Siam Paragon while the tail is still in front of the National Stadium. It says the number of protesters is expected at about 100,000 as the line is longer than one kilometre.
10:50 am: ASTV reports that police take Chamlong Srimuang and Sondhi Limthongkul, two PAD decision makers, into the Pathum Temple to provide protection.
10:48 am: PAD leaders announce through amplifier system asking passers-by to join the protest.
10:43 am: PAD leaders who head the procession apologise to passing-by motorists.
10:38 am: ASTV reports that a man infuriates protesters by showing sign demanding an end to the protest. He is taken away by police. The station says the protesters form line from the road in front of Siam Paragon to the National Stadium.
The TV reporter at the rally site says some motorists blast their horn against protesters.
10:20 am: The head of the procession waits for the rest of the procession at under the flyover bridge in front of Siam Paragon.
10:06 am: Protesters are seen carrying umbrella, national flags, signs in criticism of Thaksin while forming the line. The procession begins to move.
10:03 am: People start forming line of parade.
10:00 am: Protesters shout "Thaksin get out" now and then while waiting for the march to begin.
9:58 am: ASTV reports that the ground in the front part of the National Stadium's compound is already fully occupied. It says people come out to wait to join the march since 8 am and many carry water bottles with them.
9:55 am: Manager Online reports that dozens of policemen are keeping security outside the house of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Soi Charansanitwonge 69 from the mouth of the soi throughout the soi.
9:19 am: Inside the National Stadium's compound starts to get crowded with protesters coming to join the march, Manager Online reports. It says several TV stations puts up camera to broadcast the event.
7:50 am: The People's Alliance for Democracy starts gathering protesters remaining at the Makkawan Bridge stage to parade to the National Stadium.
