EC chairman Vasana Puemlarp said yesterday that all parties including Thai Rak Thai could field candidates in the constituency.

The agency's move came a day after the Constitution Court rejected a petition to rule whether the EC was empowered to open another round of candidate registration for the problematic constituency.

Vasana said the decision did not violate the constitutional clause that a party can field only one candidate per constituency, as Thai Rak Thai's previous candidate, Udom Kraiwatnusorn, had been disqualified.
