Biznews round-up

The Stock Exchange of Thailand has decided to extend a ban on net settlement and margin trading in shares of International Engineering Plc until June 22 because heavy speculation in the company's shares persists.

Bangkok Union Insurance has said that an accusation levelled by the Department of Special Investigation against the Leophairatana family and Pornchai Enterprises Co Ltd was not true. The DSI accused the family of violating the Securities and Exchange Commission Act with respect to agreements to rent office space in TPI Tower between Thai Petrochemical Industry and Pornchai Enterprises, which it said benefited the families.

Khunying Jada Watanasiritham, president of Siam Commercial Bank, said her bank's stake in Cedar Holdings had been diluted from 9.9 per cent to 5.2 per cent after Cedar's recent recapitalisation.
