PM worried for Banharn

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has expressed concern for the health of Chat Thai Party leader Banharn Silpa-archa, who was hospitalised on Sunday, Banharn's son said yesterday.

Varavuth Silpa-archa said a nurse had told him Thaksin had called to ask if Banharn's condition had improved.

"I insisted that my father was 100-per-cent strong. His doctor checked his condition and confirmed that he has no problems with his liver, kidneys, brain or heart. There is only an ulcer in his stomach," he said.

Banharn's doctor Pakorn Chantanamattha said the politician's condition had improved, and that he can walk without getting dizzy.

Pakorn said  if there were no problems Banharn could be released from hospital tomorrow.
