Protest stage to be moved

The anti-government movement yesterday agreed to move its main stage from Misakawan Intersection to the Makkhawan Bridge on Rajdamnoen Avenue to make way for the Red Cross Fair from March 26 to April 6.

Suriyasai Katasila, spokesman for the People's Alliance for Democracy, said the relocation work would start at dawn and was expected to be complete in a few hours. The new stage will face the Royal Plaza. "We have agreed to relocate our stage to show that we are willing to cooperate with the Red Cross organisers," he said.

Members of Dharma Army led by Chamlong Srimuang will maintain their demonstration site on Phitsanulok Road. They plan to designate a special area for people newly arrived from the provinces to join the anti-government movement. - The Nation
