Anti-Thaksin books seized

Police yesterday seized 20,000 copies of a book written by Bangkok Senator Kaewsan Atibodhi and his twin brother Kwansruang, which were intended to be distributed to protesters at Government House.

Officers did not issue any charges, but claimed they needed to send the books to the Special Branch Police to check if they were detrimental to national security.

The books question Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Chamnarn Boonyim, 31, was taking the books to a protest leader on Lukluang Road for distribution to the protesters but his pickup was stopped by police at 4pm. Chamnarn was taken to Dusit police station to be questioned but wasn't charged.
