Rural Thaksin supporters: Hear our voice

The Nation's Anan Paengnoy talked to members of the 'Caravan of the Poor', travelling to Bangkok from the North and Northeast to show support for the premier, at their overnight stop in Pathum Thani:
Plian Naowachat, 67, Buri Ram farmer :I don't know why city people want to oust the premier. I only know that he [Thaksin] has helped us more than any previous prime minister. Sud Noneklang, 53, Buri Ram farmer: I cheer for Thaksin because he helped some poor villages to get better [financially]. Who should we support if we don't cheer for him? Aot Suktako, 56, Chiang Rai: I know [the people at] the rally in Bangkok say he has conflicts of interest. Our coming is only to show the city people that we still trust Thaksin to be the prime minister. Bunyeun Prasertying, 49, Pathum Thani: Protesters like Sondhi Lim-thongkul and Chamlong Srimuang don't know how much farming people have to suffer. They should try farming! Somyos Kornsawan, 40, Chiang Rai: Villagers know the premier has a problem [from the Shin sale]. But it was managed according to the law. We want the PAD rally to listen to our voice. Thongleuan Pathumphan, 59, Nakhon Ratchasima: I intend to support Thaksin for farmers around the country. Especially, Isaan people [who have better lives] today because of him. Kham Daengmoon, 50, Chiang Rai: I brought my car because I want to show the PAD rally that there are some supporters who are not an E-tan [home-made farm truck] mob.
