Jurong sex mart raided
Police picked up dozens of illegal immigrants and prostitutes in a raid on a patch of vacant land in Jurong on Thursday night.
For the past two weeks, illegal immigrants and foreign workers from nearby hostels have been gathering at the spot in Soon Lee Road. The area has been a popular gathering spot for some time, because the view of it from the road is blocked by trees. In 2003 a Thai national was murdered there. That same year another Thai woman was convicted for running a makeshift brothel on the site for two months.
