Road deal inked

Advanced Information Technology Plc (AIT), a systems integration and service provider, and ItraMAS Corp, an intelligent transportation system solutions provider from Malaysia, yesterday signed a preliminary agreement to work on Thai road projects.
AIT chief executive officer Siripong Oontornpan said the firm would combine ItraMAS technology with its solutions to solve heavy traffic congestion in Bangkok and the provinces. - The Nation. --------------------------------------------------
Airline checks South Korea has ordered an inspection on the safety management practices of two Thai and one Cambodian budget airlines following increased flight delays, government officials said yesterday. The South Korean government will ask the respective governments of the three airlines - Thai Sky Airlines, Orient Thai and Royal Khmer - to update their transportation safety guidelines, said Yonhap new agency. An inspection conducted from February 16-23 revealed that the three carriers had violated safety rules. The Construction and Transportation Ministry investigated the operations of the three providers of flights between Southeast Asia and South Korea after repeated flight disruptions were reported. - The Nation.
