Radisson moves into residential

Radisson Hotel Group is spending Bt2.3 billion developing 1,500 condominiums on Rama IX Road.
The Green Ninth project is the fourth property in the group's portfolio and the first residential scheme, following Radisson Hotel Bangkok, Classic Place Hotel Bangkok and Grand Pacific Cha Am, which is scheduled to open soon. The first stage of Green Ninth is due to open in April. The complex of nine, six-storey buildings will contain a convenience store, laundry, swimming pool, tennis court and clubhouse. Prices are between Bt1 million and Bt3.5 million, but the company is offering a "special" on March 26, with smaller rooms priced at Bt988,000 and 34.5-square-metre rooms going for Bt1.4 million. A Radisson executive said the whole project was slated for completion in 2008 and owners and tenants would be offered cleaning, laundry and ironing services. The company said more than 20 per cent of the first phase had been sold.
