Mystery leaflets attack Abhisit

Leaflets denouncing Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva for boycotting the election were being distributed around Satun's Muang district yesterday morning in anticipation of a public gathering this evening by party members.

The leaflets, signed by "Democrat Blood", said although the Democrats had significantly less political clout than the ruling party, it could have reaped electoral benefits of widespread anti-government sentiment across the country. Boycotting the election was "folly" because the Democrat Party could get as many as 200 seats if it decided to contest the election, the leaflets said. They attacked Abhisit for lacking "fighting spirit" and urged party members to return the party's leadership to "Southerners".
