Monthinee loses her balance

[TENNIS] Monthinee Tangphong squandered two match points and a chance to reach the quarter-finals of the US$50,000 (Bt2 million) USTA Women's Professional Tournament at Fort Snelling Tennis & Learning Centre in Minnesota on Thursday.

Monthinee lead German qualifier Sabrina Jolk 5-4 in the final set with a couple of match points in hand but failed to maintain her lead, going down 6-1 3-6 5-7 in the second round.

She and Fed Cup team-mate Napaporn Tongsalee will next play in the US$25,000 Sheriff Jim Coats Clearwater which will take place at the Henry L McMullen Tennis Complex in Florida between February 27 and March 4.

Meanwhile in Bersancon, France, Danai Udomchoke and Sonchat Ratiwatana lost to third-seeded Christopher Kas and Philipp Petzschner of Germany 4-6 2-6 in the quarter-finals of the US$100,000 Internationaux Du Doubs Tennis Challenger.
