Former muay Thai boxer Parinya “Nong Tum” Kiatbudsaba, who retired with enough money to have the sex-change operation he badly wanted, is making a comeback to the ring.
Transsexual “Nong Tum”, who was well known as the “beautiful boxer” in his fighting days, will step back into the ring at the opening of the Fairtex Gym’s new Pattaya complex on Sunday. After hanging up his gloves almost two years ago to have his operation and to pursue a career in showbiz, the new-look “Nong Tum” has been training for her upcoming bout against Japanese boxer Kenshiro Lukchaomaekhemthong. If her comeback goes well and she is still impressive in the ring, “Nong Tum” will launch a serious comeback campaign. But unlike the days before she had the operation, “Nong Tum” will now have to wear a sleeveless shirt to cover up the bumpier parts of her upper body. – The Nation. ---------------------------------------------
Tennis twin gets a bad call in France The journey from Paris to Besancon in France turned into a nightmare for local doubles tennis specialist Sanchai Ratiwatana as his belongings and documents were stolen on a train last week. Sanchai was on his way to Besancon by train where he was scheduled to compete in a challenger tournament. The SEA Games gold medallist was enjoying a song performed by a group of buskers who boarded the train, but was unaware of the hidden dangers. The buskers boarded the train and kept the passengers’ attention by singing for money. Some of the commuters, including Sanchai and his twin brother Sonchat, were having fun with them, but by the time the buskers left their compartment, Sanchai realised his bag had disappeared. A computer notebook, some Thai currency, air tickets, a passport and a credit card had been inside the bag. Sanchai was so upset that he decided to pull out of the event in Besancon. – The Nation. ---------------------------------------------

Now some universities in Thailand are considering the possibility of offering him student status. Colchester won some hearts On the pitch, the Colchester team lost to mighty Chelsea but off the pitch, the Coca-Cola League One team won the Premiership contender players’ hearts. Although Colchester manager Phil Parkinson felt delighted with his players and 6,000 magnificent Colchester fans, but his players and he turned green when they were invited to swap shirts with the multi-millionaire team after the match in Stamford Bridge. “The Chelsea shirts were soaked but they have a spare one each and all of our lads got one. We don’t even have a spare set of away kit because the suppliers have run out of material,” said the manager. There was one thing that the Colchester manager held the upper hand against Chelsea. Parkinson revealed: “The dream is over but I reckon we left our mark, none more so than Lori Nice, our pretty masseuse, who certainly made an impression with the Chelsea boys. Some of them said she should be working at Stamford Bridge.” The manager made a “serious joke”, saying that “if I’m not mistaken, it could constitute an illegal approach. Our lawyers are looking into it!” – The Nation.
