White paper: Sale was illegal

The Press Council of Thailand (PCT) and the Law Society of Thailand (LST), will distribute 60,000 white papers on Friday, which explains why the sale of Shin Corp to Temasek was illegal.

PCT chairman Pongsak Payakwichien and LST president Dejudom Krairit, held a press conference saying the 26 page document included the reasons why the sell off of Shin Corp violated the law.
The paper states that the sale violated Article 124 of the Criminal Code for revealing state secrets in the telecommunication sector, and all officials who supported the sale of Shin must also face legal action.
The share sale by Thaksin’s children in Ample Rich must be subject to tax payments, the paper said. The PM had lost the integrity to continue his premiership because in 2002 he said anyone establishing a company on the British Virgin Islands was not a patriot, but Thaksin established Ample Rich there in 1999, the paper said.
