Boonthung Thailand’s big hope
[ATHLETICS] Double SEA Games gold medallist Boonthung Srisung is Thailand’s lone hope at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, which will be held at the Pattaya Indoor Athletics Stadium from February 10-12. Boonthung, who also won the half-marathon gold medal at the recent Khon Kaen International Marathon, is the hot favourite for the men’s 3,000m event, where a total of 16 runners will battle it out for the top honours.
All set for King’s Cup
[POLO] The Thai team will be out to defend their crown when the fourth Thailand Polo King’s Cup kicks off on Monday at the Siam Polo Park in Pattaya. Sanctioned by the Thailand Polo Association (TPA), the annual tournament from February 6-12 features teams from six nations – Indonesia, Jordan, Argentina, Malaysia, Singapore and titleholders Thailand. The Thai team has won the prestigious trophy for three consecutive years and last year defeated Dubai 10-7 in the final.
Bulls Head win again
[LOCAL SOCCER] The Bulls Head Brazilians won their fourth straight game in the Bangkok Casuals League over the weekend, defeating the British Club 3-0 to increase their chances of taking the title this year.
