Danai Udomchoke has reached a career high ATP ranking as he launches his American hardcourt campaign in the US$300,000 (Bt12 million) International Tennis Championships at Delray Beach this week. The Thai moves up 11 notches from 121 to 109 in the world following his qualification for the recent Australian Open. It was the first time the Thai player had appeared in the major.
Thanakorn Thailand’s captain
[TENNIS] Paradorn Srichaphan’s brother, Thanakorn, has been appointed the country’s new Davis Cup captain following the withdrawal of their father, Chanachai. Thanakorn, a former national player who is now coaching his younger sibling, was asked by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand to take charge of the clash with Uzbekistan in Tashkent from February 10-12.
