Tax deductions for sports giving

The Cabinet yesterday approved a draft executive decree allowing individuals and corporations to deduct sport-supporting contributions from taxable income, in an effort to promote a four-year plan to strengthen Thai sport.

Individuals and corporations could deduct 1.5 times the actual contribution, but the deduction must not exceed 20 per cent of total taxable income. Eligible contributions must be made from 2006-08. – The Nation.

INTERHIDES: Company grows

Interhides Plc, a producer and distributor of car-seat leather, expects sales of Bt1.3 billion this year after the company received new orders from several car firms, says company chairman and executive director Ongart Thumrongsakunvong.

He added the company had received orders from Toyota, Ford and Nissan.– The Nation.
