Thai duo remain on course

Danai Udomchoke and Tamarine Tanasugarn withstood first-set challenges from their opponents before advancing to the final qualifying round of the Australian Open yesterday. Staying on track in his campaign to earn a spot in the main draw in Melbourne for the first time, the third-seeded Danai battled through four set points on his way to beating American Glenn Weiner 7-6 (7-4) 6-3.

Boonchu a chance in Khon Kaen

[MARATHON] SEA Games gold medallists Boonchu Chandecha and Boonthung Srisang are the big Thai hopes in the third Khon Kaen International Marathon, in the northeastern city next Sunday. The international annual event offers the country’s highest prize money at Bt2.5 million, as well as a trophy from HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, HM Queen Sirikit and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
