Abandoned baby has winning smile

Published on January 04, 2006

An abandoned new-born baby was found in Rayong yesterday, the third such child to be found in the first three days of 2006.

On January 1, a five-day-old boy was found in a garbage container next to the Lampang Wiang Thong Hotel in Lampang. The boy had almost suffocated in the garbage bag in which he was found. The comatose boy was still in hospital yesterday, occasionally requiring breathing apparatus and suffering from a lung infection. A 15-day-old girl was abandoned on January 2 under a tree next to the wall of a house in Bangkok’s Bang Na district. The girl, wearing only a pink diaper and shorts, was covered in mosquito bites.

The four-month-old boy found in Rayong yesterday was left on the side of a road. Aside from a few bruises and insect bites, he was fine.

The boy had a good temper and smiled constantly, prompting Kamnan Jun of Tambon Nikom Pattana to adopt him.
