Maker of Chang beer invited to sell its shares in Singapore, still eyeing Thai bourse. Chang beer brewer Thai Beverage Plc will seek a dual listing on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), pending regulatory approval.
Discounts for New Year revellers
Transport Co yesterday offered a 50-per cent discount for its passengers holding bus tickets for Bangkok yesterday and today if they can postpone their trips through Monday. Thawatchai Phaoluengthong, general manager of the state-run inter-provincial bus company, said the move was aimed at easing the busy schedules of buses that had to head out to their upcountry destination to bring passengers back to the capital.
Airfields in North are far too close for comfort, pilots warn
Pilots have voiced fears for their safety following a Civil Aviation Department decision to licence a new landing field for light aircraft in the North – within the threshold of an existing airfield. “If you have 25 rai of land with a minimum length of 500 metres and minimum width of 20-30 metres with no obstacle on the approaches and sides you can build a temporary ‘landing ground’ for light aircraft,” Ken Cornell, director of Northern Aviation Services, said recently.
