ENGINEERING: Robot teaches itself to walk

A small two-legged robot is inching its way forward, trying to walk by itself. What’s special about this robot is that it’s trying to learn to walk by trial and error. Built by a research team from the Chulalongkorn University department of computer engineering’s intelligent system research laboratory, the robot is encouraged to “think” using an advanced programming technology.
